"The advantages of having a correctly set saw are well known to all. By using a Saw Setting Dial Gage any specified setting for various kinds of lumber can be exactly maintained, thus ensuring maximum output and efficient workmanship." - Kafer
The gage conveniently has two faces, one on each side for right and left handed use. The dials are movable and each side has a tolerance marker. For use, the gage is laid on the saw blade so that the contact point touches the cutting edges of the saw. The pointer gives an instant reading of the measurement.
The standard flat feeler shown on the gage above has a diameter of 10 mm (.4"). You may also request pointed feelers, spherical feelers or flat 4.8 mm diameter feelers. Delivery of 4 weeks should be anticipated.
Pointed feeler, 4.8 mm flat feeler, standard 10 mm and (.4") feeler now also available in carbide.
The manufacturer does not offer the feelers for Saw Setting Gauges as spare parts because they have to be ground together with the stand feet when they are mounted during the assembly process. If you exchange them or screw them in they will not be in the right position to make correct measurements.
Accuracy on .001" models is .001" over the entire range. On the metric model, the accuracy is 40 µm.
