Starrett dial indicators and spare parts
Americans are passionate about things made in America and Starrett has a strong, loyal following. People who have switched from Chinese imports are always impressed and usually sorry they didn't do this before. For one thing, their money is not going abroad and supporting that repressive communist regime.
Politics out of the way, Starrett indicators are heavy gages that have some easily replaceable parts should it become necessary. The standard contact point can be replaced with any specialty point (needle, flat disk, ruby ball, etc.) which we feature on page 133.

Dial Indicator Spare Parts
Sorry, we have discontinued supplying spare parts for Starrett Dial Indicators. Why? We are not Starrett dealers and don't get dealer discounts nor can we purchase directly. If you need Starrett parts, give them a call to find a distributor in your area who can help.
The parts listed below are for reference so that you can request the proper parts numbers. Keep in mind that parts are likely to change over the years. You should check the Starrett web site to see if parts breakdowns are available for your gages.
Plastic bezel clamp (PT11277) fits all Starrett indicator models beginning with 25-. The screw, if needed, has to be ordered separately (PT11155). The plastic clamp has a peg on it which has to fit into the little hole on the indicator's body, just below the screw hole.
Problem solving idea: if your indicator's hand does not return reliably to the starting position (which is around 10 o'clock on the dial) then you should check the spindle end screw to see if it is tight.
