Kafer Foil Dial Thickness Gauge
High Accuracy Thickness Measurement

Inch Reading FZ 1101/30 Foil Dial Thickness Gauge

These German made dial thickness gages are used exclusively to measure the thickness of thin foils. The frame is sturdy enough to allow accurate readings to .00005" and the insulated handle will minimize heat expansion. Total permissible error is 3µ per 1 mm travel.

This is a hand-held gage designed for on-the-spot measurement. The anvil is lifted by depressing the thumb lever. The jaw depth is 30 mm. It will not be possible to get deeper jaw depth for this particular foil thickness gage. Other thickness gages with deeper jaws, up to 16 inches, can be found on page 96.

The standard version comes with 2 N of measuring pressure but this can be customized by the factory to as little as 0.7 N if requested at the time of order. The diameter of the standard feelers is 6.35 mm but other options are available as well.

Hysteresis is not checked.
Repeatability is 1.5 µ checked at any point of the range.
