Dianthus alpinus

NYBG; Short-lived, dark green leaves, loose cushion-forming. Solitary, single, pale-spotted, deep pink to crimson flowers, 1-1.5" across, with bearded, toothed petals, in summer. Prefers humus-rich soil.
